We’ve become a society of weenies. Think about it: we get bad service, for the most part we don’t do a thing about it. We walk down the street and watch people throw their trash on the ground, but we don’t want to say anything to them. Whats happened to us? Well it has to stop. That’s why I wrote this book, Grow a Pair: How to Stop Being a Victim and Take Back Your Life, Your Business, and Your Sanity. Its exactly what we need right now in this country. I…COULD…NOT…WAIT… for Larry’s take on this story when it broke! It’s representative of the sad state of our culture today that Larry is always writing about. Grow A Pair people!!!!!
Sadly, this is the attitude of kids. Most of the kids I teach think the parents are heathens.
Right on, Larry – the family needs counseling, not a courtroom. College is a privilege! And let her go get a job – there’s no magic in going to college straight out of high school. Get a job – get some life skills – give your head a shake – take responsibility. And certainly do not compromise your relationship with your parents by suing them……geesh!

Way to go Larry! There is NO “right” to go to college, nor are parents obliged to pay for it. As for “parents should fill in the gap” for college costs-sez who? That family should work it out at home, and if things are that bad, then everyone goes to family therapy. The kid is the one who left her home, by her OWN choice. Perhaps if people let their kids work their way through college, the kids might appreciate hard work and the value of a dollar. As for the “well, college costs are way too high” I agree. So work out a payment plan, or pay for it up front, or work your way through or DON’T GO, if you cannot afford the price.
