Are people really idiots? Obviously I believe so based on the title of my new book, People Are Idiots And I Can Prove It.
What else could I believe based on the evidence provided?
Parents don’t talk to their kids or discipline their kids; give them everything they want and then wonder why their kids are a mess.
People barely do any work while they are on the job, then can’t figure out why they got laid off when times got tough for their employer.
People spend more money than they earn then seem to be surprised that the people who loaned them the money actually want to be repaid.
The majority of people can’t read and don’t read.
Our country is experiencing an obesity epidemic because of our eating habits.
25% of people cheat on their taxes yet expect honesty from their elected officials.
I could go on and on with points just like this but I believe my point is clear. The real issues are: Why are people idiots? and: What can be done to stop being an idiot? When we deal with the cause of a problem and offer some solutions, then we can begin to fix individual problems as well as the problems of society.
That is what my new book is all about. If I just pointed out all the ways that people are idiots, we would all have a good laugh but it wouldn’t move anyone closer to a solution. I like solutions. Simple, “Stop doing this and start doing that” type solutions. People Are Idiots And I Can Prove It does this because I deal in detail with the various ways each of us sabotage our lives and how we can reverse the cycle to achieve more.
If you ever look in the mirror like I do and wonder why things aren’t going better, maybe you will pick up some good idea from what I have written. At least, that is my goal. I am not promising you that this book will fix everything in your life and that you will suddenly be rich, healthy, famous or good-looking. But I honestly think there are some good ideas in the book that just might help you out.
I honestly wish the best for all of you in 2009. I have a lot of cool things happening including another book that you will hear about soon! And if you haven’t joined me on Facebook as a friend on my page or the Unofficial Larry Winget Fan Club, be sure to do so to get information fast!
Thanks, Larry
OK Larry, I ordered the book before Christmas and got it just after! As with all your books (all of which I possess and have read), you clearly provide a caveat about pissing people off. Gotta love it. Well, I’m only into the first two chapters and am enjoying the self-help lists. I’m not yet an idiot but am heading there. I will be forwarding my sales slip to get the Free Prizes! I was hoping, however, that you could send me a signed signing plate that I could affix to my copy.
Keep up the Pitbull work, don’t lose your common “common sense” and simplicity – your book will help countless people.
Hi Larry
I am professor in one of the most prestigious universities in the World; I have good qualifications, and do enjoy my teaching. However, the main reason eo enjoy what I do is not because I am a professor, but because I can make a difference in my student’s life. What is curious is that most of my students approach me not just to ask about the discipline I teach, but to express their personal feelings. the other day, a posgraduate students mentioned that I should be ‘a motivational speaker’ isntead of a teacher. What is curioous is that I ‘always thought to be a motivational teacher’ but end up being a teacher! I really enjoy the subject of Personal Development, and I am thinking seriously to start my own business in this area and become finally become the person I always dream to be.
Sorry to disturb you, but can you give me your sincerely opinion on this, please?
All the best… and I am looking forward to reading your last book.
AJM
Larry,
Once again you hit the nail on the head. But are people idiots because they want to be or idiots because they just can’t help it. I haven’t read the book but I will get it and render my opinion so I can’t speak to it’s content so maybe I’m an idiot for commenting without reading. But I have read your previous books and I have seen you speak twice and I’ve yet to see you or hear you miss the mark. What are your thoughts on idiocy? Nurture or nature?
Alright! I will get one off Amazon instead of waiting for you to move to the White Mountains in five years and THEN get it off eBay. I am getting quite a collection of your WIN series which I keep in the glove box of my Zuki to read when I have a few minutes.
But a comment on the idiots I have observed. Today’s idiot you get rid of is replaced by tomorrows new and improved model. And let me tell you they dont make today’s idiot like they did yesterday. Todays idiot has enough computer savvy to wreck your business out of shear stupidity by downloading some game his doofus friend sent and installs a Trojan that takes 14 computer geeks two weeks to fix what this moron downloaded and installed in 5 minutes!
Or the idiot who is to cheap to buy good footwear and slips on a rock, is off 6 weeks at full pay then decides to sue the company after he gets back and feels he was not taken care of while he was off. Even though you called the fool every day, took his wife and mother to doctor appointments and brought his family a ham for Christmas.
But that was last year and the newer models are arriving!
HAVE A GREAT YEAR!
I received my freebie before I got your book LOL and I’m loving both! The Encore Effect is as good as you promised and I think People Are Idiots is your best yet, thanks for the bonus and keep up the good work.

Hi Larry,
Will I be an idiot if I asked for a complimentary copy of ‘People are Idiot and I can prove it’?
I am intrigued by your different approach to motivational writing. Keep the daring titles coming.

efe, you wouldn’t be an idiot for asking – but I would be for sending. Plus, the bookstores own the books, not me. You might try asking Barnes and Noble. Good try though.
Larry, I just finished “People are idiots” over the weekend and I want to tell you it was one of the best books I have read.
Thanks for slapping me around.
I have already taken action.
