We’ve become a society of weenies. Think about it: we get bad service, for the most part we don’t do a thing about it. We walk down the street and watch people throw their trash on the ground, but we don’t want to say anything to them. Whats happened to us? Well it has to stop. That’s why I wrote this book, Grow a Pair: How to Stop Being a Victim and Take Back Your Life, Your Business, and Your Sanity. Its exactly what we need right now in this country. Great episode, Larry. I’ve always liked the definition of integrity as “doing the right thing, even when no one is looking”. That’s basically what you’re saying here. Thanks for the reminder. Ironically, it helps “motivate” me (haha).
Well said Larry! Love that idea of personal integrity, it crystallizes how I feel.
Wow. Thanks. Now I’ll do what I can to be better in every area of my life again. I was taking it easy on a few things. I needed that kick in the butt.
filler comments:
(I realize also that those who put up with the suckages of life get better rewards. If you put up with being financially responsible, you get less stress. But doing a bunch of boring paperwork and crunching numbers still sucks (for me anyway). I’d prefer to not ever have to do it. But the rewards are worth it. Peace of mind.
Nobody’s free of problems or things they don’t want to do. Some people seem to be strangely under the illusion that life is easy for other people without even knowing them simply because they don’t complain and just get the hard parts done somehow someway.
I started doing core exercises every morning. Truth is They suck. Doing this sucks. They hurt! They are UNCOMFORTABLE and I never WANT to do them. But some weird way it makes the whole day a lot easier, standing up straight and standing up for myself. And I feel better emotionally. So I put up with it. Besides, they are only always ever temporary. But then, I should’ve been exercising all along anyway. And as you say, I should have been doing my best at it every day, rather than just the minimum some times. Because that’s what taking care of your one and only body requires. )
So thank you again for the words and even more so for just the pure honest authentic integretity. Wow. Very inspiring and motivating.
You rock Larry! You are so inspiring!
“I require more from me more than you will ever require from me.”
That says a lot about life right there.
