There should be only two reasons to go to college:
1) You have a love of learning and want to do so, and you can afford it.
2) You need a specific skill set for a profession you want to go into that only a college education can give you, things like medicine or forensic pathology.
If neither of these apply to you, don’t do it. Going to college won’t ensure a good job with good pay. Do something else.
Boom!!!! Curriculum is outdated! A few years ago, I took a job as Campus Director at a private career college (with programs on Marketing, Medical, Technology and Legal) – WE couldn’t keep up with the changes in the market!
Right on point, again, Larry. I like the reference to the ‘gap year’ – makes total sense for these young people.
Great interview. I always learn a lot, not just on content and your point of view but …..I watch everything about the interview too. Thanks!

Not sure what “gap year” is, but it sounds like a Community College, where you can get a 2 year AA degree along with learning something useful = such as Welding, HVAC, Massage Therapy, Vet Tech, etc. Lots of 2 year degree programs are more useful, and less expensive than full-fledged colleges and universities.
I am trying to find a good plumber to hire to do service calls. We have a shortage of skilled tradesmen. Kids no longer want to be plumbers or electricians.
