This week I posted one of my best blogs ever as a follow up to my last…….. to be fair, I did what I said I would do and put it on my Member’s Only site, The Truth Be Told. For those of you who have not joined, I am going to GIVE you access to see last month’s first debut issue: just go to the site Truth Be Told and register and put in the passcode: larry4free
You will get the first issue for FREE and if you like it, you can then join. Each month, you will get a ton of stuff. It’s only $14.95 per month or $99 for a whole year! For a teaser of this month’s special blog, this is an excerpt from the blog and the rant:
I am sick of listening to the politicians blow smoke up my skirt saying that Americans are the hardest working people on the planet. They are simply pandering to our emotions and our sense of patriotism about what great people we are. That’s a load of crap. American workers are NOT the hardest working people on the planet. Read a little. Watch some educational television. Travel some. You will quickly find out that the American worker is about the laziest worker on the planet. For the most part, workers do just enough to squeeze by. Tell them that you have a problem with how little effort they put out and the crappy job they are doing and they will contact their union rep and file a grievance. Yep, I am taking on labor unions too. Originally, they were a great idea. They were formed to protect the American worker from abuse. But folks, this ain’t a hundred years ago. Working conditions are not what they used to be. Your rights aren’t being violated by expecting you to actually do what you were hired to do and are being paid to do. Now labor unions exist not to make sure that workers are treated fairly and to stop abuse but to put the squeeze on companies for every dollar they can to the point that the company can no longer be profitable or compete globally. Want to know why we ship so many jobs overseas? One of the reasons is labor unions. Highly skilled people, who are willing to work harder than people in our country are willing to work (and for less money, I know) and don’t belong to a union that has management by the short hairs. (Of course the situation is more complex than that but this is a rant, not a thesis.) In few cases does America produce the highest quality product and almost never is it done at the lowest price.
Am I anti-American? Some of you will read this and think so. Nothing could be more wrong. I am very PRO-American. But I’m not so wild about what we have let happen to our great country. GREED. A lack of INTEGRITY. LIES. IMMORALITY. Not the kind of immorality that the fundamentalists talk about. I’m talking about the morality that is based in doing the RIGHT thing. The thing that has nothing to do with religion or politics. Instead, it’s the thing you know in your heart is right because it just IS. You don’t have to ask, you don’t have to think about who will win and who will lose, you don’t have to wonder about the repercussions or consequences, you just KNOW it’s the right thing. And because you know it is the right thing, you do it. That is real morality.
For the rest, in fairness to my member’s you have to join. Sorry if that doesn’t sit well with you but…………
And because I get such a kick out of these negative “reviews” of my books I have to share them. Here are two reviews of my books that I found on Amazon this week.
Larry “The Cable Guy” Wingnut is what’s wrong with America: an ignorant prole spreading uberklass idiotology. The favorable reviews here are as illiterate as Right-Winget is mindless. Susan Jacoby’s “The Age of American Unreason” is a book about such socio-pathic narcissists’ favorite subject: themselves. Too bad they can’t read. They’d find out what the rest of the world knows: pinheads like Winget and his ilk are prime examples of why Amerrycaca is, as Merle Haggard puts it, “rolling downhill like a snowball headed for hell.” The nation of Jefferson, Madison, Washington, Adams, and Franklin has become the nation of George Bush, Ronald Raygun, Al Sharpton, Jane Fonda, and Larry Winget. As such, it’s a nation that can no longer govern itself. Its only hope is to continue being governed more and more by multi-national corporations, which are increasingly run by other nations, none of whom are as incompetent as America, which is losing two wars at once because it can’t even beat a gang of camel jockeys.
Not much of a review of my BOOK ….. AND it’s racist but Amazon posted it anyway …… Here is another one …………………….
Larry wastes the millions he gets from his books on tons of cowboy boots he doesn’t need. Nice way to set an example. He sells useless things like bobblehead dolls of himself on his website. Ask yourself: would a guy who really cared about helping you out of financial trouble sell you things you don’t need? If he’s so rich he can waste tons on silly cowboy boots, he’s the one laughing his way to the bank….with your hard earned money!
I thought this was supposed to be a self help book. Instead it’s a stand-up comedy piece with lots of in your face ranting and raving about experiences this guy had. He’s no expert, just an overconfident entertainer that wears funny clothes. If that’s why you buy his books, fine. Don’t expect to get actual answers and helpful advice.
Yep, I am what is wrong with America. Me and Al Sharpton and Jane Fonda and Ronald Reagan and oh yeah, George Bush. Actually, he is right about Bush! This “review” is classic and cracks me up!!!! I love it. Oh yeah, BEWARE of my bobbleheads – they will cause you to go broke!!!! By the way, sadly, I ran out. People bought them and had to file bankruptcy because of it while I laughed my way to the bank with the $4 profit I made on each one of them. And are my clothes really that funny?
I am recording 12, yes TWELVE new video DVDs this week that will be available soon. Stay tuned for details. Also, next week I will be announcing the release of a brand new DVD we just released!
All the best until next time!
Larry
Wow! – Are people just that stupid?
Do they not think that they have the CHOICE to buy what they want to buy…if they have enough $$ to buy a bobblehead doll go ahead…If you have enough $$ to buy your cool cowboy boots go right ahead…
Now, if there was a Choice between food for a week and cowboy boots it would be different but that isn’t the CHOICE here!!
Good Grief! I think you are GREAT! (btw – I Listened to you at the Sonic Convention – I have never spent the $$ on a speakers book…I bought yours – read it on the plane back home!!! and think about little bits of it all the time 🙂 THANKS!)
Yes, people are incredibly stupid. But buying things creates a connection to them that is more psychological than real. I just had a conversation with someone who wants to run out and buy new books on the same topic that he/she has a big unread stack of books on at home. This person apparently wants to gain what is inside these books by osmosis. Can’t be done.
And this person often whines to me about being broke.
If people can’t figure out that buying more stuff is not the answer, I don’t know if they can ever be helped.
Larry definitely is not what is wrong with America. He tells the truth! I thought I was destined to struggle to pay my bills until a friend of mine loaned me the book “You’re Broke Because You Want to Be.” I read it in a day! It opened my eyes and showed me all the things that I was doing wrong and the ways to make it right. I now have a budget, I have restraint. I got a little bit of money in my bank account and got complacent. Now, my finances are lean and mean. And, I did it myself. No help from anybody – just hard work, paying close attention, and reading every thing I can get my hands on. There are ways to get out of the hole – you just have to want to help yourself out. And don’t give up!
My mother used to call these kind of folks low functioning. They were likely raised to be this way – which is quite sad. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are over their head in debt with barely any income. So, instead of getting real about their own lives, they trash Larry.
About the Labor Unions – Larry is right on, there. My grandfather and his brother helped build the unions in SW Pennsylvania – and would be heartbroken to see what they’ve become.
Americans should be ashamed of being lazy and stupid – because there is no excuse for it.
Hey Larry,
Aren’t you writing a book called “People are Idoits, and I can Prove It.”
Man, I’m not so sure that you need to prove it.
Blue Skies,
Jeff
We’re all idiots some of the time. It’s the basic condition of humanity. But seeing our foibles for what they are enables us to make the choice to rise above, or spend the rest of our lives saying “it just happened” about everything. I hate that whine. Nothing just happens.
Staying lean and mean requires paying attention. Just as eternal vigilance is the price of freedom.
There is no doubt about it the unions were once a mighty force needed to protect American workers from corporate greed and to guarantee safety but they have become power mongers just like the bankers the government now needs to protect us from through the bank bailout plan. Both my parents were former union members. And my family benefited from unions contracts. It is a darn shame they now act more like a corporate greed machine than a protector of workers rights.
As a former multi millionaire on his way back to wealth (you can read “My Story and I’m Sticking to It” on my blog http://moneyfinanceswealth.blogspot.com and follow my progress), I can tell you I truly dislike what unions now represent. As a kid I walked the picket line with my dad when his union went on strike. We cut back and sacrificed during a couple of strike periods, but my dad believed in the fight for better working conditions. The unions helped negotiate benefits for him during these strikes which proved useful to him and my mom when he became disabled due to work related injuries.
Larry keep up the good fight and keep telling it like it is because their ain’t no way to pretty up ugly!
Hey Larry,
I am a bit down since I did not vote for our 44th president. How about a nice rant to cheer me up and get me ready to face the coming “CHANGE”
I am looking up some of your older material and wishing I had discovered you sooner. I saw your books when I went to the library to read. That is one of my better habits.
