Personal Contact With Me and then Some…
I really appreciate the many emails I get about the television show and my books, CDs, DVDs and speeches. I enjoy reading them and enjoy responding when I can.
Please understand that I can’t respond to every single email. There are simply too many and it grows daily. While I would love to work with everyone who contacts me, I can’t. So please don’t get your feelings hurt when I tell you that I can’t call your sister-in-law to tell her to stay away from the mall – it ain’t happening!! I get hundreds of requests per month from people with money problems, personal problems, family problems and more. I am flattered that you want to confide in me and want my input in your life. But there is no way I can make personal contact with all who email, the volume is too high. So if you get a form letter response, understand. It is isn’t that we don’t appreciate your question or that we don’t care. Everyone gets the form letter. Then your emails go to me and I respond to some based on my time and the situation. I personally respond as often as I can but only via email — I am not going to pick up the phone and call you. There are days I feel lucky when I squeeze out the time to call my boys and my mama! And when I send you an email, chances are, it will be a short one.
I am not discouraging contact in any way. I enjoy it and want to encourage it. That’s why I put up the blog so everyone could benefit from the comments and questions that my readers post. I also respond individually on the blog often with answers that I feel many could use. So keep posting and keep writing but if you are waiting for a call from Larry, it will be a long long wait.
My boss, Robert Kiyosaki and our media person Richard Taylor had discussed with us in our Round Table meeting about his New York trip and the taping for the Millionaire Inside etc. He bought the t-shirt “Shut Up and Stop Whinning” which I loved and also the book you signed for him There is a reason it is called work – I decided to purchase the book because when I started reading in the Preface it caught my attention to where I was interested to read on no matter what you said that we probably won’t like. I am interested in what you have to say about customer service as that is what I do for Rich Dad. I also have a blog:

Can’t wait to get the book and I will give a feedback when I am done.
I promise not to be offended by a form letter. However, if I was to get one of your e-mail post cards that said, “I don’t care!”, then I might be a little offended.
Finally, you have your own blog. I am so happy!!! Now, I get to read it every now and then to learn things from you. Thanks for being part of our lives. You are the greatest!
Dad,
I am very proud of your success and it is amazing how easy it is to get rich. I am only 25 now (as you know..ha) and things are really starting to look up. I remember when you always said, “Just believe in yourself and you can do anything………..anything.” Well I have had my blinders on for 5 years now and I am definitely doing exactly what I want to be doing at this point in my life. Maybe you should tell people about your idea of surrounding yourself with affirmations to constantly remind yourself about your dreams and goals. It might sound corny but it works. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you soon. I hope I don’t get your standardized response. HA!
Okay folks, a blog comment from my son Patrick. What he is talking about in his comment is that way back when I was broke I wrote my dreams and goals on cards and other statements of prosperity (found in my Shut Up, Stop Whining and Get A Life book), then laminated them and covered my shower walls with them. Patrick remembers seeing these on my walls when he was very small long before he could read. I would read them to him and tell them they would come true. And they did. I still do this today. I review my goals daily and have affirmations that remind me who I am and what I can accomplish. You should do this as well. But, it’s not enough to just have goals and dreams and affirmations…..it takes action. Affirmation without implementation is self-delusion. Take action on your goals……just a little bit every day. Action makes your dreams come true!!
Thanks to Patrick for the reminder.
I have no readers, Oh, I mean one reader, a woman named D, for my blog so you getting the hits you get on yours, I am very happy for you. I have work and school and am happy to learn all I can for my future financial dealings. I read blogs and watch financial articles, and have spent more than a little cash on buying books for the financially savvy. It’s my obsession until my debt is gone. I won’t be offended if I get a form…at least it’s a start and my goal is to get out of debt and learn from competent people, of which you are definitely counted. Be pleased that your son is proud of you. You must be a wonderful dad, which makes you awesome in my book. Take care, AKB
Thank you for being so open and such an inspiration. Everytime I hear you speak, I’m astounded at the “realness” of you. It’s such a blessing to see someone who truly lives by what they preach. It’s also a blessing to see a parent that has passed on the “loving what you do, whatever you do” philosophy to their children and have it manifested.
I just finished your book “You’re Borke because you want to be”. I happened to be at LAX, on my way back from a business trip and picked it up in one of the terminal stores. It really hit home for my situation. I have a good job and hope to be promoted as an assistant manager in the May/June time frame this year but until then I need to get my act together, financially. I have watched “Big Spender” on A & E many of times and thought about the situations of the people you were helping and how I could apply these principles to my life. Getting your book was my first step to my financial freedom.
I have always enjoyed shopping – it was a form of release for me when I was bored and/or wanted something special for a big event. Which I now have confirmed reading your book is my biggest issue. Now I am determined to tackle it head on. I am a single women with two cats (they are like my kids) and are 12 years old. My biggest fear is that they will get very sick and I don’t have an emergency fund for them if this happens (to the cat haters out there, I don’t want to hear it) but these two bring a lot of love and fun to my life. When they were just a few months old, my old doctor had put me on a birth control shot that made me crazy, I was paranoid and emotional all the time, I felt like everyone was out to hurt me. On top of it all I had just found out that my boyfriend at the time was cheating and all of this mixture made me just want to end my life. When I had thought about giving up, I called my Mom who told me that I have two little lives that are depending on me and I have to be here for them. Now after all these years I am, but only in the physical sense not financially.
Since it’s the beginning of 08′ I am making a lot of changes for the better, using the gym membership at least 3x’s a week….eating healthy and now working on my financial well being. When I read your section & story of the book where you talk about donating money away, I was shocked because I just heard about this on Oprah the other day too. She was saying that when you give to good causes, the good will come back to you – just like what I read. It was confirmation to me that these changes are going to be tough but overall rewarding and I am planning to donate to causes that have touched me and my family soon.
Right now its too soon to give you my financial progress (nothing new yet, still putting all of your lessons into action) but I promise to get back and post with an update. I would like to take you Larry for writing the book and putting the lessons that I have heard on “Big Spender” into a book for me.
Thank you for the book “Its called work for a reason !”. I have been laid off for the last 8 months from a job I worked very hard at, and will admit, have some issues as a result. I will be returning to the workforce in mid march in a new career, and your book has helped shed / cleanse all of the garbage that goes along with a work environment. I look forward to new success in work and life !
Mike
