by Joe Calloway.
The most appealing thing most of you will notice when you pick up this book is that it is short! That’s good. I like short books. I like books that are easy to read. I like my books to be entertaining. I want to smile while reading it. I want the book to make me think about what I can actually do differently to give me a better result. I am not looking for earth-shattering commentary or big confusing concepts that are hard to figure out and harder to implement. I want the books I read to be simple, fun and have at least one great idea I can take away and use. That is my formula for a great book. Joe delivers!
The part of the book that was MY take-away: What am I doing in my life that I need to let go of to get better results? Joe asks a couple of simple little questions about life and work that lead you in that direction. Those questions made the book worthwhile to me.
You will find your own take-aways. My wife got something totally different and didn’t even remember what I was talking about when I mentioned my take-away. That is what is magic about a great book: everyone finds their own take-away! This is my promise to you: You will find your take-away and that one little idea can make you better.
Here is a bonus. The book is cheap. Yep……cheap!!! It’s only $10 on Amazon. Ten bucks! Ten bucks can get you AT LEAST one great idea that can make you like yourself and your life and your job more and make you better tomorrow than you were today. That is the bargain of the year for sure!!
Thank you for recommending books. Thank you for telling people to read. Thank you for telling people to expand their mind.
Thank you for recommending this recent book but unfortunately “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” is being released today and it takes a BIG priority over anything to do with business or self-development, or house cleaning, cooking, eating etc. Jason Isaacs said it best: These books are like crack!

I’ll take you up on the offer of “Showing Off” after I’m done with Harry!
Keep up the good work!
I just finished this book tonight, and found it to be an incredibly informative, useful and easy read. There are a bunch of good nuggets of information in this book, making it easy for me to find at least one or two ideas to make use of in my own life and career.
Thanks for the recommendation.

I totally agree with the recommendation. The book is delightful and insightful. Easy to read and full of wisdom. You can read it in a couple of hours. While many of the messages have been around for a long time, Joe Calloway has a unique approach to delivering the message.
Some of my more important take aways were:
If you wait until everything is perfect, you’ll wait forever. Do it now.
Planning is okay, even essential, but don’t get caught up in or too attached to the plan. Things change. “If you want God to laugh, tell him your plans.”
As a society we have become obsessed with getting things … we have too many things already. To truly get the valuable things in life, we need to give up some old things … bad habits, old values, negative friends.
Eliminate the negative. Stop talking about what you could do and just do it.
The book is a great reminder for us to gain clarity on what is imporant. Life changing information if you will act on it.
I bought this book because Amazon.com recommended it from other books I had purchased in the past. Definitely a good read. I was glad to see Larry also recommended it too. I am trying to read more because this is one step Larry’s book said would help to improve yourself. It is a challenge to try and decide which books to read. I am looking forward to more of Larry’s recommendations. If you can find just one good idea in any book, you have got your moneys worth. I agree with Larry… READ READ READ
